Is there anything That I can do to keep birds off a house roof?

I have birds that land and run around on my roof, making noise day and night. I don’t want to call pest control because they’ll put poison to kill the birds. Is there anything other than that which I can do without killing the birds, to keep them off my roof or at least to minimize it?

They say that owls scare birds off – get a plastic owl from your local garden supply and see if that helps. I know I see several fake owls on rooftops here in my town, but am not sure how good it works. Or maybe a weather vane – birds don’t like sudden movements.

Enjoy them on your roof. I love them on mine. We always put bread out for them.
Or, you can put rice up there and they will die from that

Don’t do that. Ha ha.
I really don’t know how to keep them off, water balloons could scare them away. Or even make distractions in your garden by putting up bird houses and bird feeders. That would keep them in the garden and not your roof.

Get a statue of an owl and secure to roof.In south Florida we use this technique to keep birds away from our boats.

Get a plastic owl from any garden store, I see them all of the time in my apartment complex on peoples balconies because we have pigeon and seagulls everywhere here. It has to work I see birds all over the balconies that do not have one. Good Luck and I hope it helps.

They aren’t that cheap, so you can try getting a block of wood and use a drawing of an owl on it.
